Community Service

The Rochester-Area 20-Somethings (R.A.T.S.) is committed to giving back to our community, and helping those less fortunate.

Our model for Community Service events is both to organize events specifically for our members, and to team up with other Community-based organizations in our area, including Rochester Cares, the Greater Rochester Jaycees, and soon, The City Walk. By doing so, we can get even more people charged up and making a difference in our community!

The R.A.T.S. will soon be collaborating with The City Walk and Rochester Cares on a significant community project that we expect will take place in early January. We're envisioning a volunteer community-building project, followed by a fun social event where we can all celebrate our hard work. Stay tuned for more details!

Selected Volunteering Opportunities:

  • Al Sigl Centerıs Just One Volunteer Opportunity You can give back to your community in Just One hour! February 1st, Al Sigl Center will send 355,000 envelopes to households in the Greater Rochester Area, asking for Just One dollar. Beginning February 3rd, those envelopes will start to come back by the thousands, some with Just One dollar, others with many times that amount. They need YOUR help opening envelopes, counting money, and entering donations into our database. Volunteers are needed February 3-21, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., to help open and count donations. We will also need volunteers for some evening data entry.
